HELLIQ Society is the new millennium high IQ society for the profoundly gifted homines intelligentes. Founded on the first day of the third millennium (01/01/2001) by Dr. Evangelos Katsioulis MD, HELLIQ functions as an entirely web based superior intelligence community.
The minimum requirement to enter the Helliq Society is a performance on an acceptable standardized IQ test of at least four standard deviations above the mean of the general population. This performance corresponds to the following baseline scores:
IQ 160, with standard deviation 15 (Wechsler scale)
IQ 164, with standard deviation 16 (Stanford-Binet scale)
IQ 196, with standard deviation 24 (Cattell scale)
Helliq members are symbolically referred to as HELLIA.
The first component of the Society name is meant to be highly related with the Greek word for GREEK, which is HELLENIC and also with the Greek word for the sun, which is HELIOS. The Society name consists of two components: the first component consists of the first four letters, HELL, before the second IQ component. The number of letters of the component HELL- corresponds to the minimum number of standard deviations (4) on an intelligence performance required for membership.
The society is dedicated to the application of valid, scientific instruments in identifying people at the scientific limits of measurement of cognitive abilities and assembling them together. We never cease being inspired by one of the bedrocks of modern civilization, the culture, science and art of classical Greece and those of the Hellenistic period.
One of the society’s interests is the active support of all profoundly intelligent persons, their intellectual projects and ideas. Therefore an online forum is set up to promote communication between members.
After all these years the old Helliq web site was constantly updated. One of the old society websites can still be accessed here.
